Everything’s said and done for the first week in a whole new universe for DC Comics, and I thought I’d write a little bit about how these changes have affected Superman, both in terms of continuity, character and how I felt the comics worked on their own regardless of hype or relaunches.
Something my friend mentioned the other day kind of struck a chord with me.
He talked about how people generally assume communication on the Internet is somehow less ‘real’ or defined than doing so face to face. Sure you don’t have that tactile intimacy, body language, tonality etc. but it’s not as if there isn’t someone sitting on the other end reading and responding to the things you say, and vice versa.
It isn’t a computer expressing these opinions, it’s humans who just happen to be using the conduit of the world wide web.
When someone compliments you, or insults you it doesn’t lose any weight just because it’s some faceless drone rather than a colleague, a friend or a stranger in the street.
Whilst it’s good to keep a clear head, a sense of perspective, and not to take the whole enterprise too seriously, can you really deny it’s importance also?
How many people fall in love over the Internet? Make and stay in touch with friends via it? Stay in contact with relatives it’d be next to impossible to do so as effectively any other way. You have a certain responsibly with the things you say and how you act online. I genuinely believe that.
he never shows any interest in women except for his sister and even after they kiss he looks at han like “are you jealous that she got to kiss me babe?” plus with the whole daddy issues thing and being a jedi maybe he’s afraid to come out of the closet
yeah how about the fact that he marries mara fucking jade aka the hottest babe in the galaxy
